Successful Life Extension through Living in the Present

What is the magic key to successful life extension?
Why do we Age?
The aging process is a fascinating subject simply because there doesn’t seem to be any good reason for it. It’s as if we age through some gene related inner command that remains illusive to modern science. You see, over comparitively short periods of time our bodies completely renew themselves - we undergo a complete cellular makeover. The cells we have now, for the most part, are not the same as those we had a year ago.
So, why do we age? Is it an individuals perspective of time (psychological time) that determines how they age? If a person lets the past and future continually dominate their attention will they not accumulate psychological time in their body and therefore suffer from premature aging. Notice how the "I" that observes our thoughts and actions does not change with time. It is always present and does not age as the physical body appears to.
Separation, Identity and Time
If you think that living in the present has no impact on life extension then take a look at the above Video. Eckhart Tolle is the author of the very successful book "The Power of Now". Believe it or not he is now in his sixties!
A belief in separation keeps us dwelling in either the past or future. Being continually controlled by the mind we are taken away from the moment by thoughts of past or future events. It’s these thoughts that give us our identity. After all, who would you be if all your memories of the past and all your projections of the future were taken away from you? You would have no concept of time because there would only ever be the present moment. You could not possibly identify yourself without historical reference or future projection.
Does this concept of separation or individual identity shorten our lifespan? Should we not be in control of our mind rather than it control us? By living in the moment the eternal "I" transcends identity and eliminates the psychological time of mind. We are taken away from identity and the realm of materiality to the part of us that is timeless and without age. Our whole cellular structure becomes filled with consciousness to experience lightness and clarity. Anyone who has tried meditation for any length of time will understand this feeling.

One of the true secrets to successful life extension is the ability to transcend physical time by moving away from the things that make it real - the mind and our belief in separation. We do this by living in the moment and observing our thoughts rather than being wrapped up in them.
